Computer Maintenance

Preface

Most of us use a computer either at home, school, or work these days. Many of us have several that we own or use on a regular basis.  If you have used computers for a while, you know that over time, they always seem to run a little slower.  They don't start up as fast as they use to, and you probably need to restart more often to keep it running smoothly.  If this is happening to you, then the maintenance your computer needs is probably being neglected.

A computer, like a car, needs a certain amount of maintenance and upkeep to keep it running smoothly.  If you work for a company with an IT department, or have only used a computer at school or the library, you probably have not thought much about it. There are people hired to take care of it for you.  They are working away behind the scenes keeping everything safe and secure.  The only time you interact with them directly is when you need something or when something goes wrong. By the time we reach the end of this series, you should be able to take care of this maintenance yourself.

Summary
